Timo Nuñez’s communicative sense of rhythm, interpretation and charisma are what shape him as the sought after performer and choreographer that he is in today’s exciting world of Flamenco dancing.

 

Coming from long roots of Spanish heritage, Timo began dancing at the early age of seven and quickly began to excel as a young professional performer with Juan Talavera’s Flamenco Company around the same time he began his studies in Spain. It was at the age of twelve that Debbie Allen discovered Timo and invited him to perform at the Kennedy Center. Directly out of High School in Santa Barbara, California, Timo was chosen by Julie McDonald, Kenny Ortega and Toni Basil to win the prestigious LA Music Center’s “Spotlight Award” for non-classical dance. Soon after, Timo was signed to  McDonald-Selznick Associates. Since then he has studied, performed and taught all over the world from Santa Barbara to Seville in constant search for artistic and cultural knowledge pertaining to Flamenco dance and evolution. He was chosen by Israel and Pastora Galvan, Rafael and Adela Campallo, El Torombo, and other greats to win “El Concurso de Baile de Albuquerque.”

Over the years, Timo has had the honor of working closely with some of the world’s most renowned directors and choreographers such as Amy Tinkum, Raj Kapoor, Otis Sallid, Debbie Allen and Kenny Ortega. He has performed all over the world from the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles to the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi.

Timo was featured as “America’s Number One Flamenco Dancer” on Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance and has been seen in feature films, television shows, commercials and music videos. Some of his credits include, the feature film RENT, ALIAS, CARMEN, LUISA FERNANDA and LA TRAVIATA with The LA Opera, CHARO Las Vegas, SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE & BENISE; NIGHTS OF FIRE- PBS as a soloist & choreographer. He can be seen currently in the latest Pussycat Dolls video; HUSH HUSH.
