Timo Nuñez began dancing ballet and studying musical theatre at the early age of seven in Santa Barbara, California. At the age of nine, he was intensely attracted to Spanish Flamenco Dance and began to study under Linda Vega and Roberto Amaral. He quickly began to excel as a young professional performer with the Santa Barbara Civic Light Opera and Juan Talavera’s Men of Flamenco, around the same time that he began his studies in Spain. It was at the age of twelve that Debbie Allen discovered Timo and his sister Beatrice as a young brother/sister flamenco duo. They were invited to perform at the Kennedy Center in Debbie Allen's Pepito's Story. Timo later became a member of the Debbie Allen Dance Academy’s faculty as a flamenco instructor.
Directly out of High School, Timo was chosen by Kenny Ortega, Julie McDonald and Toni Basil to win the prestigious LA Music Center Spotlight Award for non-classical dance. Soon after, Timo signed with McDonald-Selznick Associates. He now performs and choreographs all over the world from Santa Barbara to Sevilla, New York to Dubai. Chosen by Israel and Pastora Galvan, Rafael and Adela Campallo, El Torombo, and other greats to win El Concurso de Baile Flamenco in Albuquerque, Timo was recognized by some of the most renowned flamenco dancers of all time.
Timo enjoys pushing flamenco’s traditional boundaries while respecting the early journeys of flamenco with great passion. The combination results in an authentic creation that is unique to TImo Nuñez. A trained actor of twelve years, he has studied intensely with Meisner Coach and friend, Janet Alhanti. The opportunity to work as an actor in many films and television shows has given Timo the ability to combine flamenco with dramatic arts as well as other dance forms to create his innovative expressions. In the past, he has had the honor of working closely with directors and choreographers such as Kenny Ortega, Debbie Allen, Placido Domingo, Marta Domingo, Nigel Lythgoe, Jeff Thacker, Jeff Margolis, Liz Imperio, Keith Young, Sharon Young, Amy Tinkum, Raj Kapoor, Mikey Minden, Mary Murphy, Ruthy Inchaustegui, Otis Sallid, Lindsley Allen, Alex Magno, Kitty McNamee, La Tania, Yealisa, Roberto Amaral, Juan Talavera, Linda Vega.
